MEET OUR COMMUNITY PARTNERS
True to our vision to tell African stories through art, it’s both the craft and the stories behind the craft that excite us when we source new collections. We want to know who, how, why, and what role it plays in the local community. And with this, share the inspirational stories of these partners with you, our customers.
We look to fair trade initiatives already embedded into communities. Initiatives such as Kaross, that provides the infrastructure and training for locals to learn a new craft, and contribute to their family’s income. In the most rural communities we visit, these craft villages provide the only alternative income source to farming.

Then we have our one-off capsule collections from creators we meet along the way. Such as the pair of Grandma basket weavers from Mpheni Village, who sit roadside along the Ribola Art Route, barefoot; using their toes to grip twigs that they bend into beautiful basketry.

These are the encounters, partnerships, and dedication to craft that give us purpose. It's our privilege to tell these untold positive African stories.
